Dream destination: Since my childhood, I have dreamed of visiting Paris, France. I would love to explore its culture, fashion, and architecture—specifically the Eiffel Tower—and I hope to enjoy a charming café by the Seine one day!
Drink or treat of choice: I love living a vibrant life filled with happiness and sharing my positive vibes with others. That’s why my favorite drink is an Aperol Spritz—it’s always colorful and gives off a refreshing energy.
When you step into the Kids’ Club at the luxurious yet family friendly Le Méridien Maldives Resort and Spa, one of the first things you will notice is Torsa’s radiant smile and positive energy.
As a Kids-Club Attendant, Torsa’s passion shines through her every interaction with each little guest she meets, from painting seashells with the children to entertaining them during Maldivian Bodu Beru (traditional Maldivian music and dance) lessons.
With her background in nursing and keen attention to detail, she is dedicated to ensuring that every child feels safe, happy, and engaged at the Kids’ Club, while exemplifying the spirit of community that makes the Marriott experience so special. Torsa’s journey with Marriott reflects a deep commitment to creating memorable experiences for her young guests—a commitment she attributes to the strong values and culture of Marriott.
Since joining Le Méridien Maldives Resort and Spa’s pre-opening team in 2021, Torsa feels lucky to be in a supportive environment that fosters growth and teamwork. “I have gotten lots of training opportunities to grow in my field and I have become more confident in myself,” she said. “My Marriott career journey is a life changer.”
For Torsa, the resort is a true home away from home. She loves waking up to the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters of Maldives, and heading to work with a supportive team that values both career and personal development.

How would you describe your experience as a Marriott associate?
Being part of the Marriott has been an incredible experience. I’ve experienced significant career growth, always supported by my leaders along the way. The best part about Marriott is how they truly care for us associates — they fully recognize our efforts and provide us with many opportunities.
Tell us more about what makes you feel valued at Marriott.
My journey with Marriott has been amazing, thanks to the support of my leaders. A moment I would like to highlight where I felt the most supported was when I wanted to grow in my career. I requested to join a department leadership training to build my confidence and learn more about being a great leader. My leaders not only gave their full support in having me participate in the training, but they also showed their encouragement for me all the way. This was the moment that has always made me feel happy and proud to be part of Marriott.
What makes you feel supported in your role?
Marriott has always given us a flexible work environment to be in because they genuinely understand our needs. They take care of us by motivating us to continually develop in our career through the many training opportunities available, and to keep active with weekly initiatives like TakeCare Wellness Activities. We are also offered enough off-days, where we can enjoy some personal time to relax and recharge.
Speaking of TakeCare Wellness Activities, which have you taken part in?
As a member of the TakeCare Wellness team at Le Méridien Maldives Resort and Spa, I usually sign up for most of the activities! I love participating in these, especially when I get to decorate the venue before the event starts – like during Halloween, Valentine’s Day, Christmas and even a DJ party – and during the event when I can create fun and entertainment for the other associates participating.
One of the highlights was my participation in Halloween face painting for my fellow associates. It was not only a fun experience for me, but also for my colleagues, fostering a spirited environment during the event! I was delighted to bring different designs to life on my coworkers’ faces and I cherished the chance to connect with them in a lighthearted setting. These activities serve as a fantastic outlet for my artistic skills and I have found great fulfillment in transforming the workspace into a colorful and welcoming space for all to enjoy!
Which Marriott associate benefit do you enjoy most?
As I love traveling, the Marriott Bonvoy app makes it so easy to book a hotel now. I always use the Explore Rates — I’m only 9 more nights away from being a Gold Member!
What is your favorite part of working as a Kids-Club Attendant?
To me, just the idea of working with kids sounds like so much fun — that’s why I love everything about my job! Every day, I get to meet our little guests on this beautiful island and make lasting, happy memories for them through different activities, like arts and crafts, while ensuring that they are both safe and entertained.
In your three years working at Le Méridien Maldives Resort and Spa, what is your proudest moment so far?
To be able to work in Marriott in and of itself is something that brings me lots of pride. But when I won the ‘Associate of the Month’ award in 2021, that was the proudest moment for me. It was during the first townhall meeting after the resort had opened, and to get nominated and win the award made me feel so grateful and proud.
Any advice for incoming Marriott associates?
To all new associates and whoever is looking to join, if you want to develop your career and yourself in a place where you will feel right at home, Marriott is the right place to be. Since joining Marriott, my life has changed in amazing ways, and I always feel proud to be an associate. So, my advice: embrace every opportunity for growth at Marriott.
