Turning an Associate Perk into a Dream Trip
This was Lindsay’s first time using the Explore Rate, and, after having gathered plenty of insider tips from colleagues, her criteria were clear: tropical, luxury, easy to get to. When she found The St. Regis Cap Cana, the choice was obvious.
“When we learned we would be able to stay at a top hotel for approximately $700 less than the going rate, I felt incredibly lucky,” she says.
Finding Space to Breathe
Even though Lindsay had never stayed in a luxury hotel before this trip, her favorite moments weren’t about the fanciest amenities. Instead, they revolved around a quite different kind of indulgence: calm.
“My favorite moments were on the beach and in the ocean,” Lindsay says. “I could feel the stress I had been holding melt away, and I felt really proud to be practicing self care in such a remarkable way, and to work for an employer that enabled me to take advantage of it.”

From the property to the food to the views to big little details that made all the difference (the staff left a special birthday dessert surprise that was waiting for the couple in their room when they checked in), Lindsay describes the entire stay as exactly what she hoped for.

A standout moment was the meal at Nina, the resort’s signature restaurant led by Chef Diego Muñoz.” And later, as the perfect finishing touch, the guest experience team surprised her husband with a birthday treat, a thoughtful detail that made them both feel special and extra grateful.
