Meet Three Young Leaders Helping Shape the Future of Hospitality

A one-on-one conversation with Marriott’s CEO. Presenting alongside senior executives. Leading programs that help develop future talent. Helping shape enterprise strategy and cybersecurity decisions.

These aren’t milestones from the middle of someone’s career. They are experiences three Marriott associates had before turning 30.

From Internship to Leadership Opportunities

Today, as a Director of Strategy and Program Management in Marriott’s Business Transformation Office, she’s helping drive change across the business. But one of the experiences that means the most to her is giving back to the program that launched her own career. She is now leading the Business Transformation Office internship program, helping develop the next generation of talent and is a member of Marriott’s Young Professionals Associate Resource Group, which helps early-career associates build connections, expand their networks, and grow professionally across the company. “Being able to give back to these new leaders and next generation of talent here at Marriott feels like such a full circle moment for me.”

Building the Future of Hospitality Through Innovation

Ashish came to Marriott looking for meaningful work, and found it in a role where data, cybersecurity, and hospitality all come together. “I want to be somewhere that values both innovation and humanity, and Marriott truly has that balance.”

In his role in Cyber Risk Reporting and Analytics, that means helping leaders make better decisions through data. “I help transform complex cybersecurity data into clear, actionable insights that support senior leaders in making informed decisions.”

But what excites him most is where he sees the industry heading. “The future of hospitality is about anticipating needs while still keeping human connection at the center.” For Ashish, technology isn’t just about systems and data. It’s about helping create better experiences for associates and guests.

A Front-Row Seat to Growth

For Katherine, a manager supporting talent analytics and reporting technology at Marriott Headquarters and member of the Young Professionals ARG, some of the most memorable moments happened long before she was a manager.

When she was still an intern, Katherine found herself in rooms she never expected to be in so early in her career. She met one-on-one with Marriott President and CEO Tony Capuano and later co-hosted a panel with Ty Breland, Marriott’s CHRO and EVP of Global Operations Services. Those opportunities gave her an early glimpse of what was possible at Marriott and helped her build the confidence to step into bigger opportunities.

“That experience helped me realize that I could confidently share my perspective and opinions, even in high visibility settings.”

But what stayed with her wasn’t the title in the room. It was the realization that Marriott creates opportunities for people to contribute, learn, and grow from day one. “Growth doesn’t happen in comfort and at Marriott, you’re supported every step of the way as you take those steps forward.”

Three different careers. Three very different roles. But listen closely and you’ll hear the same themes throughout their stories: curiosity, trust, and the chance to make a meaningful impact early on in their careers.

Or, as Sarah puts it: “Stay curious and say yes to opportunities that stretch you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, seek mentorship, and raise your hand for work that excites you. In my experience, when you combine initiative with genuine collaboration, doors open quickly.”
