Work Permits & Visas in Spain
You’ll need to have a European passport or another valid work permit. If you don’t have a National ID number, you’ll need to get an NIE. This is usually issued by local police offices.
For more senior job roles, some sponsorship for a permit may be available. Talk to a member of the hiring team to find out more.

Some of our hotels provide accommodation for associates in certain job roles.
Language Requirements in Spain
To work for us at Marriott Spain, you’ll usually need a good level of written and spoken Spanish and English, although requirements will vary depending on the duties of the role you’re applying for.

Health Insurance For Employees in Spain
Associates who pay into the Spanish social security system can access public health care. Our associates are not generally eligible for private health insurance in Spain, but it may come as part of some roles depending on the position and department.
Transport to Work in Spain
Some of our hotels may organise employee transportation. In some remote locations, there may be private transport for employees specifically for the high season. Ask us during the interview process if you would like to understand the local transport options.
Pensions & End of Service Payments For Associates in Spain
Eligible associates can pay into the local pension scheme in Spain. Associates in some regions may also be eligible for an end of service payment. Ask the hiring team for more details.
Spain Employee Discounts & Perks
All of our associates can use our Explore by Marriott Bonvoy discounts. Some of our associates in Spain also get free parking, laundry and on-duty meals, plus discounts in certain shops or on fitness sessions.
Service Charges & Tips in Spain
Some of our Spanish hotels include service charges on their bills. Our associates can accept tips from customers, but note that any paid by credit card are taxable.
Bonuses in Spain
Marriott associates in Spain may be included in bonus payments.
Annual Leave in Spain
Just like at our Marriott hotels in Germany, associates in Spain on full-time contracts usually get an annual leave allowance of 30 days to recharge or travel. Note that there are 14 bank holidays a year in Spain.
Sick Leave Policy for Marriott Spain
You may be able to get paid sick leave in times of illness. Note that the leave allowance may differ depending on local laws.
Maternity Leave in Spain
Eligible associates in Spain are typically able to get four months of paid maternity leave. This may differ from region to region, depending on local laws.
Relocation Support to Spain
We don’t generally offer relocation support for new associates in Spain, although we may be able to help out with certain senior positions. You can ask your interviewing team to find out more about this.
Night Shift & Overtime Pay
Some associates may be able to earn overtime or extra night shift pay, depending on where they work.
Reference Checks For Applicants in Spain
Unlike in other countries like Switzerland, when you apply for a job with Marriott in Spain we don’t tend to request references from previous jobs or education institutions before extending a job offer.
On-Duty Meals For Associates in Spain
We usually provide lunch or dinner in the staff canteen for on-duty associates in our Spanish hotels. This may be free or discounted, depending on the hotel.
Spain Uniform Allowance Policy
Some job roles need a uniform, particularly if there is a lot of contact with our guests. We’ll supply this for you in these types of roles.
Ways of Working in Spain
For new associates, we have a probation period of between 15 days and six months, depending on the position and the department. Our associates in operations roles usually work shifts. Our admin staff generally work Monday to Friday, but some positions have weekend shifts.
Flexible & Remote Working
We don’t typically offer flexible or remote working, but there may be opportunities in certain hotels and departments.
Full & Part-Time Working
We mostly offer full-time contracts working 40 hours per week, with two consecutive days off, but there are also some part-time and seasonal opportunities.
