Geetika, an Income Auditor at The Ritz‑Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, has learned to follow her curiosity, even when it leads her somewhere unfamiliar.
She began her career in Food and Beverage in India, gained experience in the UAE, and eventually found herself in the Maldives. Along the way, she discovered that growth does not always come from having the right answers, but from being open to learning, asking questions, and trusting the process.

What’s one moment in your career that changed how you see yourself?
The day I began my Finance Voyager management trainee journey. It made me realize that real growth begins when I focus on what I can influence and how I choose to use my time, skills, and intent. Instead of worrying about things beyond my control, I started focusing on what I could contribute.

Who’s someone that has supported you in your journey to leadership?
My journey has never been mine alone. It belongs to everyone who took the time to listen, guide, and respond to my questions. I am naturally curious and always want to understand the “why” behind what I do, and I have been incredibly fortunate to have leaders who welcomed that curiosity with patience and openness.
You took part in the Voyage Program, how did it shape your career?
My Voyage journey taught me how to lead a team with communication, curiosity, and presence. When I say team, I mean everyone across the property. Leadership is not only about showing up in moments of success, but especially when things are difficult. That is where trust grows and where people feel supported.

What is your golden rule for leadership?
The statement “I have the opportunity to continuously learn and grow.” It reminds me that leadership is not about perfection. It is about progress.
“Leadership is not only about showing up in moments of success, but especially when things are difficult.”

I believe that leadership is built through trust, kindness, and connection.

What advice would you offer to women looking to accelerate in their careers?
Trust your curiosity, take small courageous steps, and stay connected to people who can guide you. Do not hesitate to ask questions or explore spaces that feel unfamiliar, because that is often where growth quietly begins.
