Work Permits & Visas in Australia

To work for Marriott in Australia you will need 

  • A valid Australian passport, or 
  • Proof of your right to work in Australia,  

If you don’t have either of those you will need to secure a visa for yourself, we are unable to assist with that for the majority of roles (if we are able to assist it will specify on the job posting).

Our properties do not offer accommodation.  If you are new to the location, feel free to ask your interviewers about the area. 

Australia Language Requirements 

English is a must for our teams in Australia. If you speak any additional languages, those may also be useful for our guests. 

Competitive Pay and Monetary Benefits 

Marriott ensures that its Australia-based associates are well-compensated through a structured pay system that includes: 

  • Competitive Base Pay: For the efforts you put into your work, you will receive before tax pay on a fortnightly basis. 
  • Annual Performance & Pay Review: On a yearly basis, your pay will be reviewed based on performance or minimum salary increments stipulated by the government. 
  • Discretionary Bonuses: This includes discretionary bonuses or incentive plans as applicable depending on the role. 
  • Annual Leave Loading: If applicable to your role you will be paid annual leave loading on top of the minimum hourly rate. 
  • Superannuation: This is paid on top of your base pay. We will make contributions on your behalf to a superannuation fund. 
  • Long Service Leave Recognition: Your long tenure with Marriott International in Australia will follow you no matter which managed hotel in Australia you go to. 
  • Allowances/Penalties: The entitlements and reimbursements made on top to compensate for particular hours worked or for expenses applicable to the role.
