Name: Mauricio V.
Position: W Insider
Hotel: W Montréal
For Mauricio, hospitality is about creating moments guests will never forget. As W Insider at W Montréal, he curates highly personalized experiences for VIPs, celebrities, artists, and travelers seeking something special. Whether it’s a hard-to-get dinner reservation, an exclusive entertainment booking, or a custom itinerary to explore the city, his role is all about delivering service with style and sophistication.
His two decades in the industry began in a very different position — as a valet doorman. “That helped me create all my connections over the years,” he says. Those connections, and the trust he’s built with clients and partners, are what make his recommendations so memorable.

Can you tell us about your career journey?
I’ve been working in hospitality for over 20 years, and with Marriott for more than two. I started as a valet doorman, which helped me create valuable connections during the years. Those relationships still help me today in my role as W Insider.

What does your role as W Insider involve?
I take care of VIPs, celebrities, and artists — making sure their stay is personalized and seamless. That can mean securing dining reservations, booking entertainment, arranging transportation, or even finding the perfect place for a massage. My goal is to create an intimate, location-specific experience that reflects the W brand.
How has Marriott supported your work-life balance?
Marriott gives me the opportunity to spend quality time with my kids. Every morning we establish a routine — we make breakfast and eat together before I start my day.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing guests leave with a smile and knowing I’ve helped create a memorable experience for them.
