What does your job entail?
As a Concierge Supervisor I oversee the entire work of the concierge and bell desk. I organize any services that happen outside of the hotel for guests. I also manage roster, interview and payroll approval for both concierge and bell staff except the Chief Concierge.
What were you doing before joining Marriott and how has your career changed since you first started in the company?
Before Marriott, I was working for a hostel in Sydney called The Village. It is one of the largest hostels in Australia. Because of the pandemic, they had to cut off staff, and I was one of them. After the pandemic, I was eager to find another job in the travel industry. That’s when I applied for a job at the Sydney Harbour Marriott. I was hired in July 2022 as a bell staff. Within six months, I was asked if I would like to work at the concierge desk, and I did! Then, I was promoted to concierge supervisor in November 2023. I have been loving and learning every single day at Marriott as my career continues to grow.
Marriott is a very diverse company, both in terms of environment and people.

The first time that I attended the Mardi Gras parade (sponsored by W Hotels). It was the first time I felt a company supporting our community with full heart, not just for a short period of time or a cash-grabbing marketing campaign.

How would you describe your experience as a Marriott associate?

When it comes to your career, what makes you the proudest?
To be able to participate in improving our community. I’ve spent 20 years in the hospitality industry, and some of my proudest moments come from the small, meaningful things that others might overlook—like making a guest’s day. This brings me immense joy and reassures me that all my efforts are worthwhile. At this moment, however, I believe my proudest achievement is joining the ONE committee. Although we haven’t yet made measurable strides, I know this will become one of the most fulfilling and significant milestones in my career. Being part of a committee I truly care about and having the opportunity to contribute is something that fills me with pride.
What would be your best advice for incoming Marriott associates?
Enjoy the ride. It may not be all sunshine and rainbows, but it will all be worth it in the end.
